Brandie Hyde's E-Portfolio

About Me

Greetings all, my name is Brandie Hyde.  As an alumni of the State College of Florida (SCF), I have completed studies in which I have received the following degrees: Associate in Arts (Dec. 2013), my first of two Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees for Public Safety Administration (May. 2016), and a second B.A.S degree for Homeland Security (May 2017).  I found that I seemed to take my studies in adulthood far more seriously than I did in my youth, thus making me a better student overall because I genuinely cared more than I did previously.  Part of the reason for this is that I finally found a field of study that truly plays to my strengths and coincides with my interests rather than what I thought would be marketable.  As it turns out, that it makes a sizable difference.

I’ve had works chosen for publication in the SCF online literary magazine Elektraphrog for Spring/Fall 2013, and most recently Fall 2015.  I also had the pleasure of serving on the magazine staff for the Spring 2014 issue.  Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is probably my favorite writer, and naturally my two favorite characters are Sherlock and Watson.  With that in mind, my train of thought tends to lean heavily in that direction, as does my personality.  The absolute closest thing I've found to put into words the various aspects of my personality can be found in the following link, as a roughly 60/40 split:  https://personalityatwork.co/types/istj/vs/intj.

In April of 2015, myself and four (4) other SCF classmates were named to the All-Florida Academic Team and were honored in Tallahassee for which we each received medallions following a luncheon and attendance of the “Rally in Tally” where we were given the opportunity to tour both the Florida State House and Senate.

I have been a Licensed Security Officer in the State of Florida with a 'Class D' since February of 2014, working for Allied Barton and continuing following a merger with Universal Security Services to form the now Allied Universal Security Services (AUSS).  This was specifically due to the company holding the contract for SCF.  I also continued to work as a Student Assistant for the Department of Public Safety and Security, starting during the completion of my A.A. and continuing on through the first of my two B.A.S.  It was the perfect fit, and more convenient than I could have ever hoped to imagine.

As it happens, I have a current U.S. Passport, no significant other, no children, nor pets, making me an ideal candidate should a position require travel, be it continental or world wide, in addition to flexible or non traditional hours.
